Teeth whitening in Cork — Opalescence Boost

In short

Professional teeth whitening safely lightens the natural colour of your teeth. At City Clinic we offer Opalescence Boost in-clinic whitening — up to 8 shades whiter in one visit — and custom take-home whitening trays, always after a dental check and professional hygiene clean.

About the treatment

How does professional whitening work?

Over time, coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco and natural ageing darken the colour of our teeth. Professional whitening uses a carefully controlled peroxide gel to lift these stains from within the enamel and dentine, giving you a brighter, more confident smile.

Opalescence Boost is the No.1 patient-requested professional whitening brand. Its gel contains amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP), potassium nitrate and fluoride, which help reduce sensitivity and leave the tooth surface smoother and brighter. The Zoom lamp does not heat the teeth, and hard dental tissues are not damaged.

For gradual, customised results, we also provide professional take-home whitening with trays made specifically for your teeth. Please note that fillings, crowns, veneers and bridges do not change colour with whitening, so your dentist will discuss this with you first.

Professional whitening carried out by a dentist or hygienist is considered safe for enamel. The Opalescence Boost gel also contains ingredients that help protect the teeth and reduce sensitivity.

Some people experience temporary sensitivity for a day or two. Your dentist can recommend a toothpaste for sensitive teeth to help.

Results can last for a long time with good oral hygiene, especially if you limit dark-coloured food and drinks and use occasional top-up whitening.
